CBS Delays Premiere of ‘The Hollywood Squares

CBS Delays ‘Hollywood Squares’ Premiere Due to Wildfires in Los Angeles

In light of the ongoing devastating wildfires in Los Angeles and nearby areas, CBS has postponed the premiere of its Hollywood Squares reboot to Thursday, January 16, at 8 p.m. ET. Originally slated to debut as the evening’s 8 p.m. ET anchor, the network adjusted its schedule to accommodate the situation.

Tonight, CBS will air encore episodes of George and Mandy’s First Marriage and Ghosts in the 8 p.m. hour, followed by additional Ghosts reruns from 9 to 10 p.m. ET, and a repeat of Matlock at 10 p.m. ET. The repeat schedule for the two comedies will continue in the 9 p.m. ET slot next week.

Hollywood Squares is set to move into its regular time slot on Wednesday, January 29, at 10 p.m. ET, following the new season of the game show Raid the Cage, hosted by Damon Wayans Jr.

Hosted by Nate Burleson (CBS Mornings, The NFL Today) and featuring Drew Barrymore as the center square, the reboot remains faithful to the original format of the classic game show. Contestants answer questions from the host while judging the accuracy of the celebrities’ responses to claim squares and form the winning pattern.

The star-studded cast includes Tyra Banks, Julie Bowen, Yvette Nicole Brown, Whitney Cummings, Akbar Gbajabiamila, Tiffany Haddish, Oliver Hudson, Pete Holmes, Gabriel Iglesias, Jo Koy, Jay Leno, Justin Long, Kevin Nealon, RuPaul, Andrew Rannells, Kristen Schaal, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Sheryl Underwood, and Jimmy O. Yang.

Mark your calendars for Hollywood Squares’ highly anticipated debut later this month!
